About The Bubbles
Greetings!
The photographer who is passionate about Soap Bubble Photography is me, Rene Bechard. I am hopeful you find these soap bubbles interesting. How did I get into this? Glad you asked! As a nature photographer, I literally stumbled upon photographing bubbles. One day my grandson was blowing bubbles and for the first time I was struck with curiosity on what a soap bubble looked like up close. That is, on the surface of the bubble. So I grabbed my camera and began blowing bubbles on a plate. From that moment back in 2014 it has taken years to develop the process of photographing and also filming the soap bubble. |
I use a Canon EOS DSLR camera and a Canon Macro lens to shoot the bubbles. It is best to shoot them in a lightless room or at night. When processing the images, I only use mild sharpening and a contrast enhancement. The only time I alter the image profile is when I remove the color content changing the bubble to black & white.
I process the images in a Landscape format which is a shot of the content within the bubble or a Sphere which is a dome bubble, copied, rotated and merged to form the sphere. When looking at either formats, allow your mind and eyes to relax, you may find faces, shapes and objects. It is amazing and at times unbelievable what I have seen inside these bubbles.
To mix the solution, combine simple dishwashing liquid with water. Add glycerin to the mixture to strengthen the bubble. All you need to do now is blow!
